Assessment of Annual Emission Reports and Improvement Report
A requirement of the regulators within EU ETS is to assess reports submitted by the operators of participating installations.
Each year Annual Emission Reports are required to be submitted by the 31st March to report the emissions of greenhouse gases from the regulated activity in the preceding year. These reports are assessed by accredited verification companies who as part of the verification process identify non-compliances against the GHG permit conditions, misstatements of the reported emissions and improvements in the management of the EU ETS process.
In response to these report findings the operators are required to provide the regulator with an improvement report stating how they have or intend to address these findings. Alternatively they may provide justifications for not addressing these actions.
IAMC Ltd were contracted to assist in the assessment of these AEM and Improvement reports between 2007 and 2012. This required a technical analysis of the reports, an understanding of the industrial process and liaison with the process operators to ensure the proposed actions met the requirements of the monitoring and reporting regulations.
